League of Legends Lecture
For millions of people, League of Legends has become an integral part of their lives. It has a massive player base, a competitive ranked system to test your skill against others, an ever-expanding roster of champions to explore, and professional esports competitions with millions of spectators.
It also has a dark side that’s hard to ignore. Players use a variety of techniques to troll one another, and the in-game environment is conducive to toxic discourse. Even in the most well-meaning games, a player can say things that cause other players to feel bad, and these interactions often lead to arguments or even full-on fights.
To better understand the dark side of League, I interviewed Nico “NicoThePico” Korsgard. He is a former EU LCS head coach for teams like Origen, Fnatic, and Banditos, and has played as a jungler for Enigma eSports. He has also coached hundreds of League of Legends players to help them reach challenger tier or higher. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Economics & Leadership and is passionate about League of Legends, eSports, and game design. In this article, he shares 3 perspectives on League of Legends that you may not have considered before. 롤대리
