Careprost (Bimatoprost) is an ophthalmic solution that’s used to improve the growth of eyelashes. It also lowers the pressure inside the eyes, called intraocular pressure or IOP. It does this by increasing the normal flow of fluid out of the eyes. The medication is also used to treat glaucoma. Glaucoma is a condition that causes the optic nerve in the eye to lose its function over time. It’s caused by a build up of fluid in the eye. Careprost increases the normal flow of fluid out of the eye and reduces IOP to prevent loss of sight.

It’s important to use this product as directed by a doctor, and to keep it out of reach of children. Moreover, it’s not recommended for women who are breastfeeding or pregnant, as it can pass into breast milk and harm the baby.

Patients should apply the drops to the affected eye once daily in the evening, using the provided applicator. It’s recommended that the applicator be wiped clean before each use to avoid any extra solution getting into the eyes. This medication should not be applied to the lower eyelid or eyebrows, as it can cause undesired hair growth in these areas.
