After appearing as a supporting character in 2018’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Miles morales Cosplay is finally stepping into the spotlight with his own game. And with that new spotlight comes a whole lot of awesome suits for our cool kid hero to wear while swinging through Harlem.
Unlike the red and blue costume worn by Peter Parker, Miles’ webbed suit features more contrasting colors. This unique look hasn’t been used as much by cosplayers as the more traditional colorway, but one Reddit user stepped up to the challenge and made this spot-on version of Miles’ uniform. The raised lines of webbing took quite a bit of work to create, and it’s a look that truly puts a different spin on the classic superhero costume.
For the uninitiated, Miles Morales inherited the title of Spider-Man after the Ultimate Universe’s Peter Parker died in a crossover dubbed “Spider-Geddon.” For his first few appearances as the black and red hero, Miles wore a knockoff version of Pete’s iconic suit that everyone pretty much agreed was a little in poor taste. But in Into the Spider-Verse, we see Miles receive a real deal version of his own iconic black and red suit. This variant, which is included in the game’s deluxe edition, calls back to Miles’ comics roots while also looking really cool.
It also makes sense that the teen hero would wear this style of suit when fighting his uncle, Aaron Davis, AKA the Prowler. After all, the Prowler is arguably Miles’ most personal foe on account of his being his own father’s brother-in-law and all.
